Endpoint security that stops threats at the device

Every laptop, desktop and server is a potential entry point. We help organisations assess their endpoint security requirements, select the right protection technologies and implement solutions that fit their environment, operational needs and budget.

EDR, antivirus and device hardening, designed around your environment

Endpoint security is not a one-size-fits-all decision. We assess your existing environment, understand your security requirements and recommend appropriate protection technologies from established vendors. From antivirus and EDR to device hardening and centralised policy management, we help you implement the right combination for your organisation, and sometimes that means improving what you already own.

Prevention and containment

Ransomware spreads faster than manual response

Encryption can reach file shares within minutes of the first infected machine. Behavioural detection, attack surface reduction rules and automatic host isolation, configured correctly, contain it before people have time to react.

Detection and investigation

Unknown threats demand more than signature-based detection

Fileless attacks, misuse of legitimate admin tools and new malware variants leave no known signature. EDR records process activity on each device, so suspicious behaviour can be detected and investigated with context.

Remote endpoints

Remote devices create visibility gaps

Laptops that rarely connect to the office network still need current policies, patches and detection. Cloud-managed consoles keep them protected and reporting wherever they are.

Endpoint security capabilities

Endpoint protection and EDR

  • Behavioural and machine-learning malware detection
  • Exploit and memory protection
  • Ransomware detection and recovery features, where supported
  • Endpoint isolation and response actions
  • USB, Bluetooth and peripheral control
  • Application control and allow-listing

Endpoint management (UEM)

  • Endpoint vulnerability assessment and remediation
  • Security configuration and patch management

Available capabilities depend on the selected OEM platform, product edition, licensing and deployment requirements. Not every vendor or edition offers every capability listed, and the management capabilities usually come from a separate UEM product. Patching and device administration are covered in detail under Unified Endpoint Management.

Our endpoint security technology partners

We resell, implement and support these endpoint security platforms, and help organisations choose the one suited to their security requirements, existing infrastructure and budget. Our recommendation is based on technical suitability, not a preference for any single vendor.

How Provision delivers endpoint security

Assess

We review your existing antivirus or EDR platform, device inventory, operating systems, security configurations, licensing, operational requirements and security gaps.

Evaluate and design

We compare suitable OEM solutions on capability, compatibility, licensing and cost, then plan an implementation that fits your requirements and budget.

Pilot and validate

A representative group of endpoints goes first, so we can validate compatibility, policy behaviour, performance, detection and operational impact.

Integrate and deploy

We procure or coordinate licensing, deploy agents, configure policies, integrate with your environment, set security baselines and confirm coverage device by device.

Support and optimise

We provide the agreed technical support, troubleshooting, policy optimisation, reporting and administration. Continuous monitoring, managed EDR and incident response are separate service arrangements.

What you get from a Provision engagement

What each engagement includes is agreed in the proposal. These are the deliverables a typical endpoint security project produces.

  • Endpoint security assessment and findings
  • Technology recommendation and licensing guidance
  • Deployment and configuration
  • Security policy and configuration baseline
  • Endpoint deployment and coverage validation
  • Technical documentation
  • Knowledge transfer and handover
  • Ongoing support and optimisation, where contracted

Enterprise endpoint security and management experience

Our largest current endpoint engagement is an endpoint management project rather than an EDR deployment, and we describe it that way. It shows the work that underpins good endpoint security at scale: complete device coverage, centralised policy, and patching you can prove.

Questions about endpoint security

Related services

Do you provide endpoint security services in Kolkata?

Yes. Our engineers are based in Kolkata and implement and support endpoint security and EDR for organisations in Kolkata and across India, remotely and on site.

What is the difference between antivirus and EDR?

Antivirus is built to stop malicious files, and modern products add behavioural and cloud checks. EDR goes further: it records activity on each endpoint, detects suspicious behaviour even when no malware file is involved, and gives an analyst the context and tools to investigate and respond, including isolating a machine. Many vendors sell both in one agent, at different licence tiers.

What is the difference between EDR and XDR?

EDR watches endpoints. XDR correlates endpoint data with other sources such as email, identity, network and cloud, so an attack that crosses them shows up as one incident. Whether XDR is worth it depends on how many of those sources already run on one vendor's platform, which is something we assess before recommending it.

Will endpoint security slow down our machines?

Every agent uses some CPU, memory and disk. How much depends on the platform, the policy and the hardware, so we pilot on a representative group of machines, measure the impact and tune scan schedules and exclusions before rolling out widely.

Do you support Windows, macOS and Linux?

Yes, within what each vendor supports. Most enterprise endpoint products cover Windows, macOS and the major Linux server distributions, but features differ by operating system and edition, so we confirm coverage for your estate during the assessment.

Can you protect laptops that work from home?

Yes. Cloud-managed platforms deliver policies and collect telemetry over the internet, so remote devices stay protected and visible without a VPN. We check this during the pilot for your actual remote users.

Do you provide managed EDR and incident response?

These are different services, so it helps to separate them. Implementation and tuning are part of the project. Ongoing administration and policy management can be added under a support or managed services contract. Alert monitoring and first-level investigation are available within contracted hours, business hours (8x5) or round the clock (24x7), under our managed cybersecurity service. Some vendors also offer their own managed detection and response (MDR) services, and we can help you evaluate and implement those. We do not run a shared SOC, and we agree incident response scope in writing rather than assuming it.

Can you help us choose the right endpoint security solution and licensing?

Yes, this is often where we add the most value. We compare suitable platforms against your environment, operating systems, existing tools, compliance needs and budget, and explain which licence tier or edition you actually need, so you do not pay for capabilities you will not use.

Do you replace our existing antivirus?

Not necessarily. We first assess your existing endpoint protection, licensing, security policies and operational requirements. If your current platform is suitable, we may recommend improving its configuration or extending its capabilities rather than replacing it. If there are significant security or operational gaps, we can evaluate alternative OEM solutions and recommend an appropriate replacement.
